Dear Reader,
It has come to our attention that Digital Next branding is being used fraudulently in a WhatsApp virtual job scam.
Digital Next staff never communicate via WhatsApp, so any contacts asking to connect on the platform must be treated with suspicion and reported immediately.
We have filed a police report (case number to follow) and are working with local authorities, WhatsApp, and Meta to address this matter.
Scam Details:
The scam promotes a fake work-from-home sales job under the Digital Next brand. Job candidates are asked to share personal details and pay money to secure the “job opportunity”.
Scammers falsely claim that all communications must take place on WhatsApp and some references to job listings on Seek and NDIS job boards have also been reported.
What You Should Do:
- Do not engage with this scam.
- Do not share personal information
- Do not make any payments
If you have suspicions you’ve come across a fake job ad, call our head office to verify the legitimacy of the job ad before engaging. Report any confirmed fraudulent adverts or messages to ScamWatch.
If you have already interacted with the scammers, we recommend reporting the incident to your bank, local police and ScamWatch.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your help in reporting and shutting this scam down. We will provide further updates, including the police case number, as soon as it is available.
Kind Regards,
The Digital Next Team
